Toi Whakaari is seeking new Trustees with specialist skills from across the motu to take over the rākau from existing members who are nearing the end of their term. 

 

You’ll play a critical role in guiding the execution of the newly created strategy which underpins a unique Aotearoa New Zealand learning approach, built on the mātauranga and tikanga of our whakapapa.

 

Ideally, you’ll offer expertise in one of the following areas:

·      Tikanga Māori

·      Marketing and Communications

·      Human Resources

·      Leveraging organisational capability for growth

·      Securing fundraising/donor relationships

·      Tertiary Education

·      Property and facilities management

 

These voluntary positions provide an excellent opportunity to develop your governance experience in our nation’s premier school of performing arts. Toi Whakaari is seeking an experienced and accomplished Ringamahi Rauemi (Resource Coordinator) to support the effective storage, maintenance and management of equipment at Toi Whakaari

From our whare standing on whenua in Te Whanganui a Tara, we celebrate a whakapapa that spans more than 50 years of nurturing arts talent through discipline specific training in Aotearoa. We develop independent practitioners who are creators, innovators, and initiators. Our graduates are some of the leading voices within the creative sector both nationally and internationally. 

About the position

Reporting to our Pouhāpai Ahurea (Director People, Culture and Operations) the Ringamahi Rauemi position is responsible for effective storage, maintenance and management of equipment of Toi Whakaari.  Your role will also include;

- Ensuring all administrative and production related equipment, technical and audio visual equipment, as well as the computer lab and sound studio are maintained to a high and safe standard.

- Coordinating, and monitoring the day-to-day issuing, storing and securing of all technical and audio equipment to Toi Whakaari students and staff across all departments.

- Providing advice and support for all staff and students to ensure safe and appropriate use of technical equipment.

- Implement improved systems for the storing of video& digital assessment record evidence, as required by NZQA, and,

- Maintaining an Asset Register of all audio visual and technical production equipment

This is a student-centered role, part time 24 hours a week, across Monday to Thursday between 8.30 am – 2.30pm.  From time to time there may be some additional evening and weekend work required.

About you
Our ideal candidate will have the following attributes;

  • 5+ years’ experience in a technical or workshop environment e.g. performing arts, events or screen
  • Formal qualification in Performing Arts Production or IT would be advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of audio-visual equipment maintenance and technical production processes
  • Proficiency in a wide range of computer programmes, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Products, Cheqroom (for asset management), Mac environment and  software specific to equipment.
  • Detail orientated approach to a methodical and orderly system with impeccable time management skills
  • Sound mechanical and IT knowledge
  • A strong communicator both written and verbal
  • A commitment to te reo and kaupapa  Māori
  • Valid full driver license,
  • Valid Mobile Elevated Work Platform certification would be advantageous

Toi Whakaari is seeking an experienced and accomplished Executive Assistant who has the ability to prioritise and manage the administration of the Office of the Tumuaki/Director of our school.

About the position

Reporting to our Tumuaki (Director) the Executive Assistant position is responsible for providing a wide range of administrative management support, primarily to the Tumuaki but also support the leadership team, Tira Mana Kōkiri. Your role will also include;

·      Diary/email management, organising meetings, coordinating calendars and all associated travel.

·      Acting as the first point of contact for all Tumuaki enquiries, managing and coordinating the Tumuaki’s daily schedule.

·      Coordinating all relevant documents for Governance andits subcommittees.

·      Reviewing existing and new governance processes and supporting with ongoing process improvement.

·      Liaising across all departments to support the development of an organisational culture that reflects the values of Toi Whakaari.

·      Some event management.

The ExecutiveAssistant role works across the Toi Whakaari community of the Board of Trustees and its subcommittees, the staff and student body in addition to the Tumuaki/Director and Leadership team. This role is a permanent full time role worked across Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have the following attributes;

·      5+years experience at the Executive Assistant level

·      Experienced and accomplished Executive Assistant with the ability to prioritise and manage theOffice of the Tumuaki/Director.  

·      Specialised in embedding organised, collaborative, and efficient ways of working.

·      Proven experience supporting governance structures including board secretary responsibilities

·      A strong communicator both written and verbal

·      Hard working, organised, collaborative, and efficient

·      A good problem solver

·      An ability to manage and meet deadlines for the Tumaki and Tira Mana Kōkiri (Leadership Team)

·      An ability to exercise a high level of discretion, confidentiality and initiative in all matters

·      An ability to work across a group of staff to support the administrative needs of the Tumuaki, Board ofTrustees, Subcommittees and Strategic Leadership Team (SLT).

·      A commitment to te reo and kaupapa Māori
